Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Will drive the design from conception through ideation through detailed tech packs, updating through the entire process
* You should be very detail oriented and organized
* Put all styles in work w fties- follow-up w x-dates, costing, sampling/production tna
* Review samples for corrections including aesthetics, dimensions, hand feel, functionality and workmanship.
* Identify, clearly define, and resolve technical issues and partner with factory to ensure comments are communicated
* Maintain established standards, details (including hardware) and integrity of the product. Provide any callouts while reviewing the current line to maintain consistency.
* Create CADs for color options, color blocking
* Establish innovative branding elements with hardware/ design/ materials.


QUALIFICATIONS


* 5-7yrs Experience in technical design on handbags/leathergoods is a must.
* Thorough understanding of the design & development process from inception through production; experience working with and in global factories.
* Leathergoods product construction and engineering required; Advanced knowledge of industry construction standards and manufacturing, including materials (hardware, leather, fabric).
* Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; ability to CAD
* Factory relationships are a plus.
* Understanding of new material development.

  



$100,000-115,000 base salary (*This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NYC - based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other AO employees.)*
