Job Description

Summary: Primary responsibilities are to lead R&D team with new product development from idea generation, idea screening, research, planning, concept development, prototyping, sourcing, and costing to commercialization, improve current products from lowering product costs to improving product efficiency.

Essential Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Understand company direction and business plan.
* Leverage your strong understanding of seafood products to make recommendations on product innovations, product developments, product betterment, product improvements, cost savings and/or production flow for seafood products.
* Research ingredients/raw materials and communicate with suppliers.
* Partner- if and when appropriate-with outside ingredient suppliers and/or relevant experts/professionals to realize product developments.
* Track and manage product development projects, regularly and proactively.
* Report development status and make recommendations for action.
* Work alongside multiple departments with all aspects of product roll-out.
* Complete accurate food costing of ingredients for products.
* Write and maintain recipes.
* Transfer benchtop recipe to production commercialization recipe.
* Maintain product inspection system regards to quality program, such as PH, Brix, Salt and Moisture. Shelf study analysis and handling instruction verification work needed.
* Coordinate with Quality for various testing.
* Help PI complete product spec sheets
* Host monthly meetings and prepare documents
* Set tastings, preparing questionaries and reports
* Participate in GMP audit and HACCP team as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

* Candidate must possess at least a diploma, bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Food Science or related field.
* At least 2 years’ work experience in the related field is required.
* Supervisor/Coordinators specializing in Food Technology/Nutritionist or equivalent preferred.
* Document control toward GFSO standard certification
* Excellent communication skills with various levels of staff and departments
* Strong leadership, motivation and supervision skills
* General knowledge for basic HACCP and Food Safety Practice

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
