Job Title: Education Specialist Teacher

Position Overview: The School District in Pittsburg, CA, is seeking a qualified and dedicated Education Specialist Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities:

	+ Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on students strengths, needs, and progress.
* Classroom Management:


	+ Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
	+ Implement effective behavior management strategies to address and support students social-emotional needs.
	+ Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom that fosters respect and cooperation among students.
* Collaboration and Communication:


	+ Work closely with general education teachers to support students inclusion in the general education setting.
	+ Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns.
	+ Collaborate with school staff, including counselors, psychologists, and other support personnel, to ensure comprehensive student support.
* Assessment and Reporting:


	+ Conduct assessments to identify students academic and functional strengths and needs.
	+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEPs, and other required documentation.
	+ Prepare and present reports during IEP meetings and parent conferences.
* Professional Development:


	+ Stay informed of best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
	+ Engage in school and district initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes for all students.
	+ Collaborate with colleagues to share strategies and resources for effective teaching.
Qualifications:

* Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
* Valid California Education Specialist Credential.
* Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a K-12 setting.
* Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and inclusive teaching practices.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
