You Are: You are a highly skilled and motivated R&D Engineer with a strong background in applied physics, engineering, or applied mathematics. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about developing new models and numerical recipes for advanced simulations. You are also skilled in parallel programming, C++ and Python development, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a good command of the English language. What You’ll Be Doing: * Designing and implementing new models for the manufacturing processes of nano-scale semiconductor devices. * Developing novel numerical recipes for simulation and performance optimization. * Collaborating with the application engineering team to integrate and validate models. * Conducting research and staying updated on the latest advancements in semiconductor technology. * Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of simulation models through rigorous testing and validation. * Contributing to the overall improvement of Synopsys' TCAD tools and methodologies. The Impact You Will Have: * Enhance the accuracy and performance of Synopsys' TCAD tools, leading to faster and more reliable semiconductor manufacturing process development and with that a reduction in costly wafer runs. * Drive innovation in semiconductor technology by developing cutting-edge simulation models. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. * Support the advancement of next-generation semiconductor devices used in consumer products. * Contribute to the success of Synopsys by ensuring our tools remain at the forefront of technology. * Help shape the future of semiconductor design through continuous technological innovation. What You’ll Need: * PhD or MS in Physics, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics with 5+ years of experience in developing large, complex engineering applications. * Strong design/programming skills in C++ related to computational physics, 3D geometry, or 3D graphics. * Solid understanding of numerical methods and object-oriented programming. * Experience with high-performance algorithms and parallel programming (TBB, OpenMP, MPI). * Proficiency in Python development. Who You Are: * Knowledgeable in discretization methods (FD, FDTD, FEM, FVM) for numerical solutions of PDEs. * Experienced in direct simulation Monte Carlo methods. * Skilled in multiphysics simulation. * Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. * Creative problem solver with a passion for innovation. * Collaborative team player who thrives in a high-performing environment.
