Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled research analyst to join their Tokyo office. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis and market research, with a focus on translating investment research between Japanese and Chinese. This role requires strong language skills, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform fundamental analysis on assigned sectors and companies, including financial modeling, valuation, and investment recommendations

- Translate investment research reports and analysis between Japanese, Chinese, and English (a plus)

- Stay up-to-date on economic, industry, and market trends that impact investment decisions

- Build and maintain relationships with company management teams, industry experts, and other market participants

- Collaborate with the investment team to generate investment ideas and strategies

- Prepare and present research reports, investment theses, and market updates to internal and external clients

- Provide support for the firm's business development and client service initiatives

Qualifications:

- Native Japanese speaker with full professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese; English language proficiency is a plus

- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

- 3-5 years of experience as a research analyst or in a similar role, preferably in the financial services industry

- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese, Chinese, and English (if applicable)

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Demonstrated interest and knowledge of the Japanese and Chinese financial markets

- CFA certification or progress towards completion is preferred
